Thermodynamics of DNA–RNA renaturation

نویسندگان

چکیده

We consider a new model which consists of DNA together with RNA. Here we assume that is from mammal or bird but RNA comes virus. To study thermodynamic properties this use methods statistical mechanics, namely, the theory Gibbs measures. these measures to describe phases (states) DNA-RNA system. Using Markov chain (corresponding measure) give conditions (on temperature) renaturation.

Kinetics of renaturation of DNA.

The rate of renaturation of fully denatured DNA is kinetically a second-order reaction. The reaction rate increases as the temperature decreases below T,t, reaching a broad flat maximum from 15 to 30°C below T, and then decreases with a further decrease in temperature. Let N be the complexity of the DNA or the number of base-pairs iu non-repeating sequences per virus or cell for the given DNA, ...

A review of quantum thermodynamics

In this article, we present a brief and elementary review of quantum thermodynamics and its achievements and challenges. This review includes an introduction to some fundamental concepts such as internal energy, heat, work, entropy, entropy production, thermal equilibrium, second law of quantum thermodynamics, relation between thermodynamics and information theory, as well as a discussion of ho...

Hybridization and renaturation kinetics of nucleic acids.

When two DNA or RNA molecules contain sequences of nucleotides that are complementary to one another, they are able to come together to form a double helix with all of the bases paired. If both strands are DNA, the process is usually called renaturation or reassociation; if one strand is DNA and the other is RNA, the process is called hybridization. These essentially identical processes form th...

DNA renaturation at the water-phenol interface.

We study the renaturation of complementary single-stranded DNAs in a water-phenol two-phase system, with or without shaking. In very dilute solutions, each single-stranded DNA is strongly adsorbed at the interface at high salt concentrations. The adsorption of the single-stranded DNA is specific to phenol and relies on stacking and hydrogen bonding. We establish the interfacial nature of DNA re...

Thermal inactivation and chaperonin-mediated renaturation of mitochondrial aspartate aminotransferase.

Mitochondrial aspartate aminotransferase is inactivated irreversibly on heating. The inactivated protein aggregates, but aggregation is prevented by the presence of the chaperonin 60 from Escherichia coli (GroEL). The chaperonin increases the rate of thermal inactivation in the temperature range 55-65 degrees C but not at lower temperatures. It has previously been shown [Twomey and Doonan (1997...
